Take 5.....

Life Before the Computer

  • An application was for employment
  • A program was a TV show
  • A cursor used profanity
  • A keyboard was a piano
  • Memory was something you lost with age
  • A CD was a bank account
  • Compress was something you did to garbage not something you did to a file
  • If you unzipped anything in public, you would be in jail for a while.
  • Log on was adding wood to a fire.
  • A hard drive was a long road trip
  • A back up is something that happened to your commode
  • Cut is what you did with a pocket knife
  • Paste is what you did with glue.
  • A web was a spiders home
  • And a virus was the flu

Take 5.....

The Lord's Prayer
A mother had been teaching her three-year daughter, Caitlin, the Lord's prayer. For several evenings at bedtime, she would repeat after her mother the lines from the prayer.
Finally, she decided to go solo. The mother listened with pride as she carefully enunciated each word, right up to the end of the prayer: "Lead us not into temptation," she prayed, "but deliver us some E-mail. Amen."
